A graphic designer has been arrested in Vijaywada, Andhra Pradesh, for allegedly ‘stealing’ nine minutes of footage from the work-in-progress\u00a0Baahubali 2<\/i><\/a>, the second part of the fantasy epic that released last year to blockbuster status.<\/div>\n

The designer was arrested after a complaint was filed at the Jubilee Hills police station in Hyderabad by\u00a0S S Rajamouli<\/a>, the director of the film.<\/div>\n

\u00a0Raw footage of war scenes, believed to be part of the film’s climax, have allegedly found its way online and gone viral, later being deleted.\u00a0Baahubali: The Conclusion<\/i>\u00a0is the final instalment of a CGI-heavy two-part film starring actors Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Anushka Shetty and Tamannaah Bhatia.<\/p>\n

The graphic designer is believed to be employed by Hyderabad’s Annapurna Studios.<\/p><\/div>\n

The arrest comes just days after the producers of the film were raided in Hyderabad, allegedly for hoarding old notes. Last week, the Hyderabad offices and homes of\u00a0Baahubali<\/i>‘s producers Shobu Yarlagadda and Prasad Devineni were raided, allegedly on the suspicion that nearly Rs 60 crores of the discontinued 500 and 1000 rupee notes were being hoarded.<\/div>\n

\nFilmmakers have been working increasingly hard to prevent leaks of footage or\u00a0pictures from the sets of their films<\/a>. In September, unauthorised pictures from the filming of\u00a0Baahubali 2<\/i>\u00a0in Rayalseema, Andhra Pradesh,\u00a0went viral<\/a>, despite director Rajamouli having banned mobile phones on set. Scenes from\u00a0Baahubali<\/i>\u00a0part one also surfaced online before it released. Scenes from films like\u00a0Udta Punjab<\/i>\u00a0and\u00a0Parched<\/i>\u00a0have been circulated<\/a>\u00a0this year.<\/p>\n

Baahubali 2<\/i>\u00a0is being made in Telugu and Tamil and will also be dubbed in Hindi, as the first film was.\u00a0Baahubali<\/i>\u00a0part one made over Rs 650 crores worldwide and won a National Award.<\/div>\n
