When the moon is full as it makes its closest pass to Earth it is known as a supermoon.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-33062\" src=\"https:\/\/greattelangaana.com\/english\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/77548957.supermoon-large_trans_NJ62v2ZFDvrR1Z2dUS5zIDaji0P0K7G8_ZgpkjjxAk.jpg\" alt=\"Largest &amp; brightest moon in 70 years this night\" width=\"720\" height=\"449\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">At perigree \u2014 the point at which the moon is closest to Earth \u2014 the moon can be as much as 14 per cent closer to Earth than at apogee \u2014 when the moon is farthest from our planet.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">On Monday the moon will be at perigee just after dusk in India.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The full moon appears that much larger in diameter and because it is larger, it shines 30 per cent more moonlight onto the Earth.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone  wp-image-33063\" src=\"https:\/\/greattelangaana.com\/english\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/11323598.news_.moonlanding-large_transqVzuuqpFlyLIwiB6NTmJwfSVWeZ_vEN7c6bHu2jJnT8.jpg\" alt=\"Largest &amp; brightest moon in 70 years this night\" width=\"575\" height=\"575\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cThe difference in distance from one night to the next will be very subtle. Any time after sunset should be fine. Since the moon is full, it\u2019ll rise at nearly the same time as sunset.
