The government is seeking to bank on the Lambretta brand as it seeks to embark on a strategic sale of assets of the loss-making PSU, Scooters India Ltd.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">According to reports, the government is keen to ensure that the Lambretta brand stays with Scooters India to maximise valuation of the loss-making automaker Scooters India. The Heavy Industries Ministry is planning to put up the company for &#8220;strategic sale,&#8221; which includes sale of government shareholding along with transfer of management control.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-25781\" src=\"https:\/\/greattelangaana.com\/english\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/lam150li2.jpg\" alt=\"lam\" width=\"400\" height=\"255\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">However, leveraging the Lambretta brand may be easier said than done with the iconic brand being used by several firms including fan websites and a UK-based company called Lambretta Licensing Ltd which uses the brand to sell products such as men&#8217;s apparel and accessories.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">On their website, Lambretta Licensing states that the company has been given &#8220;exclusive rights by Lambretta Srl to expand and develop the Lambretta brand globally.&#8221; The company has yet to respond to a query from carandbike.com about the ownership and rights of the Lambretta brand.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-25782\" src=\"https:\/\/greattelangaana.com\/english\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/li150-1.jpg\" alt=\"lam\" width=\"360\" height=\"305\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>After the Bullet making a come back in a big way in the Indian market now it is for the old Lambretta popularly called as the Lamby to make a come back.
