{"id":240643,"date":"2023-08-23T11:04:22","date_gmt":"2023-08-23T05:34:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/greattelangaana.com\/english\/?p=240643"},"modified":"2023-08-23T11:30:17","modified_gmt":"2023-08-23T06:00:17","slug":"kavitha-lashes-at-bjp-and-congress-over-womens","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/greattelangaana.com\/english\/kavitha-lashes-at-bjp-and-congress-over-womens\/","title":{"rendered":"Kavitha lashes at BJP and Congress over women\u2019s Bill"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">MlC K Kavitha launched a scathing attack on BJP State president G Kishan Reddy and Congress State President Revanth Reddy on their respective stand on the Women\u2019s Reservation Bill.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">She called the actions and statements of both the BJP and Congress state unit over BRS Party ticket distribution and representation of women in it a mere rhetoric.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In a strong response to Union Minister Kishan Reddy, Kavitha said the former\u2019s concern for women\u2019s rights was surprising, but welcomed that someone from BJP had finally acknowledged this long pending demand for the Women\u2019s Reservartion Bill which aims to ensure increased representation for women in India\u2019s legislatures.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">She pointed out the BJP\u2019s failure to fulfill its two-time manifesto promise of passing the Women\u2019s Reservation Bill, despite having the means to do so.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cKishan Anna, with an overwhelming majority in the Parliament, BJP can table and pass any Bill. Your party has refused to even entertain its two-time manifesto promise of the Women\u2019s Reservation Bill,\u201d she tweeted.<br \/>\nFurther, She stated that her party understood the frustration and confusion of the BJP which was waiting to poach BRS leaders who were denied tickets. She advised the BJP State president not to link his political insecurities to women\u2019s representation.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Kavitha also highlighted the support of Chief Minister KCR for increasing women\u2019s representation at both the national and State levels. She said he believes that without a constitutional right in place, just like the local bodies that now provide 14 lakh women a chance to represent, women\u2019s reservations in the State legislatures and the Parliament were not possible.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The former MP reminded that the Chief Minister proposed to increase the number of Parliamentary seats and reserve one-third of them for women leaders which showcased a genuine commitment for the cause. She stated that the BRS Party did not sell \u201cJumlas\u201d like the BJP.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cPoliticising a structural flaw will only expose the intent of all the political parties that represent the aspirations of the people of the country that are never fulfilled, especially by a party that has been boasting about its thumping majority but does nothing for giving women an equal space in political discourse,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Kavitha called upon the BJP, Congress, and other political parties to present their plans for women\u2019s representation and what they had to offer to the women of Telangana during the ticket distribution.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In her attack on Congress State Unit President Revanth Reddy and the congress party, she called Congress\u2019s initiatives towards the tabling and passing of the Women\u2019s Reservation Bill an eyewash and a mockery of the issue of women\u2019s representation in political discourse.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">She said that in 60 years of rule Congress Party did nothing about it and in the last 10 years, Congress Parliamentary Party Chairperson and MP Sonia Gandhi and Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi, did not even raise the issue of women\u2019s reservation bill. She further added, that the absence of Congress Party in her Dharna and Hunger Strike demanding tabling of the Women\u2019s Reservation Bill in Delhi in March this year, speaks volumes about their intent on supporting the idea and purpose of this Bill.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Daughter of Telangana Chief Minister called out the hypocrisy of Congress Party in terms of women representation in the Karnataka Cabinet that has 34 ministers but only 1 women minister and came down heavily on the malicious agenda of Congress Party to announce seats for women in Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election where the party had no stake and their was no competition.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">MLC Kavitha, further, lashed out heavily at Revanth Reddy and called him \u2018Godse who is sitting in Gandhi Bhawan\u2019 .
