In this context, the SC castes have taken steps to<br \/>\ndistance themselves from social discrimination and provide them with economic<br \/>\nself-reliance.<br \/>\nAlong with the education and social development of SCs and STs, it has<br \/>\nundertaken welfare and development programs necessary for them to sustain<br \/>\nthemselves economically. Along with all the welfare schemes implemented by the<br \/>\ngovernment for other communities, the state government is providing special<br \/>\nschemes to the SCs.<br \/>\nDalit Bandhu:-<br \/>\nThe State Government has introduced and successfully implemented the<br \/>\nDalit Bandhu scheme to increase social respect and economic respect for the SC<br \/>\ncastes who have been discriminated against for generations. Under this scheme,<br \/>\nthe state government provides a grant of Rs.10 lakh free of charge without any<br \/>\nbank linkage or security and without the need for repayment by the beneficiary.<br \/>\nThe state government has taken steps to make Dalits self-sufficient and<br \/>\nbusinessmen. As part of social responsibility, 38,323 Dalits who are eligible for<br \/>\nthis scheme have been identified and given Rs. 3,832.30 crores has been provided<br \/>\nthrough the Dalit Bandhu Scheme.<br \/>\nA provident fund has also been set up to provide financial support to the<br \/>\nrecipients of the Dalit Bandhu scheme in case of any unforeseen losses. For this,<br \/>\non behalf of the government, A Special fund is being set up with a contribution of<br \/>\nRs.10,000. In the 2023-24 budget for Dalit Bandhu, Rs. 17,700 crore has been<br \/>\nproposed.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Scheduled Castes Special Development Fund (SCSDF) :-<br \/>\nThe State Government is implementing the Special Development Fund Act<br \/>\naimed at the development of Scheduled Castes and Tribes. Legislated allocation of<br \/>\nfunds based on population proportion of SCs and STs. Funds meant for SCs are<br \/>\nprotected from being diverted to other schemes. If funds are not fully spent in<br \/>\nany financial year, the Act provides for a definite carryover of those funds to the<br \/>\nnext year. Under this scheme from 2014-15 to 2022-23 the government spent<br \/>\nRs.92,640.41 crore.<br \/>\nFinancial Assistance Scheme :-<br \/>\n1 lakh provided to the eligible beneficiaries through financial assistance<br \/>\nscheme to Rs. The government is providing 60% to 80% subsidy on loans up to 12<br \/>\nlakh rupees. Under this scheme, the government has provided Rs 2029.78 crore<br \/>\nas subsidy to 1,62,444 beneficiaries from 2014-15 to 2022-23.<br \/>\nSC Hostels :-<br \/>\nThe government has allocated Rs. 6,11,716 from 2014-15 to 2022-23 for<br \/>\nthe running costs of hostels for 6,11,716 SC students. 1976.91 crores was spent.<br \/>\nAmbedkar Overseas Scholarship :-<br \/>\nThe government is providing financial assistance of Rs 20 lakh through the<br \/>\nAmbedkar Overseas Scholarship Scheme for Dalit and Tribal students to pursue<br \/>\nhigher education abroad. The annual income limit of the beneficiaries under this<br \/>\nscheme is Rs. 2 lakh to Rs. 5 lakhs increased. Through this scheme, the<br \/>\ngovernment has made it possible for students to study in USA, UK, Canada,<br \/>\nAustralia, Singapore, France, Germany, Japan, New Zealand and South Korea.<br \/>\nThrough this scheme 1031 candidates from 2013-14 to 2022-23 will get Rs. 179.92<br \/>\ncrore as scholarship was paid by the government.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Skill Training for SCs :-<br \/>\nThe government is designing and implementing programs to identify<br \/>\nScheduled Caste youth and provide them with vocational training. Since the<br \/>\ninception of Telangana, 21,653 people have received Rs. 91.83 crore has been<br \/>\nspent by the state government. Trainees through this scheme are getting job<br \/>\nopportunities in leading national and international companies like TCS, Cognizant,<br \/>\nDell, Cisco, Zen Pact, Deloitte, L&amp;amp;T, Apollo, CARE.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Three acres of land for Dalits:-<br \/>\nThe Telangana government has designed this scheme with the aim of<br \/>\nproviding 3 acres of land to SC women who are landless poor agricultural<br \/>\nlabourers. During these nine years, 17,097.09 acres were acquired by the<br \/>\ngovernment and given to 6,998 eligible beneficiaries. The government has spent<br \/>\n769.17 crore rupees for this from 2014 to 2022.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Concessions for SC Entrepreneurs :-<br \/>\nThe Telangana government has taken steps towards making Dalits as<br \/>\n&amp;#39;entrepreneurs&amp;#39; who will provide employment to ten people. As part of this,<br \/>\n1,60,914 people will get Rs. 2,013.64 crore through subsidies and incentives.<br \/>\nAllotment of Liquor Shops to SCs, STs and Gowdas: The state government has<br \/>\nreserved 15% of liquor shop licenses for Gowdas, 10% for SCs and 5% for STs.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">TS \u2013 Pride :-<br \/>\nTS PRIDE (Telangana State Program for Rapid Incubation of Dalit<br \/>\nEntrepreneurs)<br \/>\nTS Pride is a scheme set up by the government to make Dalits entrepreneurs and<br \/>\nto provide them with financial assistance and infrastructure in business and<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">industrial sectors. The state government is providing assistance like allotting sites<br \/>\nin industrial parks to Dalits, entering into technical assistance agreements with<br \/>\nlarge industries, providing financial assistance and additional investment<br \/>\nsubsidies. In the past nine years, TS Pride has spent Rs.2,747 crore on 60,904<br \/>\nDalits.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Free electricity up to 101 units for SCs :-<br \/>\nThe government, which is bringing light to the lives of Dalits with various<br \/>\nwelfare and development schemes, has taken steps towards bringing light to Dalit<br \/>\nresidences. As part of this, up to 101 units of electricity is provided to every Dalit<br \/>\nhousehold completely free. From 2014-15 to 2022-23, the state government<br \/>\nprovided free electricity to 22,23,475 Dalit households at a cost of Rs.284.13<br \/>\ncrore.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Education for SCs :-<br \/>\nThe state government is determined to provide quality education to SC<br \/>\ncastes who have been deprived of education for generations. SC has set up<br \/>\ngurukulas as an ideal for the country with special attention towards the<br \/>\nrealization of the aspirations of Mahatma Jyoti Rao Phule and Dr. BR Ambedkar.<br \/>\nThe students who studied in these Gurukuls are getting admissions in the most<br \/>\nprestigious national and foreign educational institutions and are reaching the<br \/>\nshores of success as doctors, engineers and IT professionals.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">SC Residential Schools :-<br \/>\nThere were 132 SC residential schools before the formation of the state.<br \/>\nAnother 104 schools were established within a short time after the formation of<br \/>\nthe state. With this, the total number of SC Gurukula schools has reached 236. A<br \/>\ntotal of 1,13,280 students are studying in these. 5,428 teachers are working.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">SC Residential Junior Colleges :-<br \/>\n39 thousand students are studying in 238 SC residential junior colleges.<br \/>\nAfter the formation of Telangana, the government established 126 new<br \/>\nresidential colleges within a short period of time. The total number of SC Junior<br \/>\nColleges has reached 238 by adding the earlier 112 Junior Colleges. A total of 964<br \/>\nteachers are working in these and the total number of students is 38,389.<br \/>\nSC Degree Colleges :-<br \/>\nThere were no SC degree colleges in the Telangana region before the<br \/>\nformation of the state. After the formation of Telangana state, the government<br \/>\nestablished 30 SC degree colleges. Out of these, 1200 teachers are working and<br \/>\n25,200 students are studying.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Post Matric Scholarships :-<br \/>\nThe state government provides post matric scholarships to 2.5 lakh SC<br \/>\nstudents every year. From 2014-15 to 2022-23 for a total of 26,68,397 students<br \/>\nRs. 3,762.22 crore as post matric scholarships.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Pre Matric Scholarships :-<br \/>\nThe amount provided through pre-matric scholarships by the government<br \/>\nin rural areas is Rs. 65,000 to Rs. 1,50,000, in urban areas Rs. 75,000 to Rs.<br \/>\n2,00,000 has been increased. 5,78,417 students from 2014-15 to 2022-23 Rs.<br \/>\n368.06 crore as pre-matric scholarships provided by the government.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Study Circles :-<br \/>\nIn addition to the existing SC Study Circles, the State Government has<br \/>\nestablished new SC Study Circles in Nalgonda, Warangal, Karimnagar, Mahbub<br \/>\nNagar, Nizamabad, Adilabad, Khammam, Rangareddy, Suryapet, Siddipet and<br \/>\nJagityal districts. SC Study Circles are providing coaching for civil services, central<br \/>\nservices, group A, B and other competitive exams in these circles and laying<br \/>\ngolden paths for their future. The main branch in Hyderabad serves the students.<br \/>\n1314 candidates who took coaching in these from 2014-15 to 2022-23 were<br \/>\nselected for different posts.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Welfare Programs for SC Youth :-<br \/>\nTelangana government is taking a special initiative to make the scheduled<br \/>\ncaste youth educated. Telangana Social Welfare Residential Educational<br \/>\nInstitution Society was formed in the year 2014 after the formation of Telangana<br \/>\nState. This society is running 268 Vidhyavasati houses across the state of Dyara.<br \/>\nThese hostels provide quality free education, board and accommodation in<br \/>\nTelugu and English medium to students studying from 5th standard to<br \/>\nintermediate. Separate hostels have also been arranged for scheduled caste<br \/>\nfemale students studying for degrees. The training classes are organized so that<br \/>\nthe students who have studied here can show their talent in any corner of today&amp;#39;s<br \/>\ncompetitive world. Special training is given to develop self-confidence and<br \/>\ntechnical knowledge among them.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The State Government is implementing many welfare development schemes for the welfare of SCs.
