Inspite of center shelving the ITIR project from Telangana, the state achieved the mighty 2.41 lakh crore IT exports in 2023 said Jagan Patimeedi Chairman of Telangana state technology services. IT exports of Telangana are estimated to be 2.5 lakh crores in 2032 and thanks to the efforts of K Taraka Rama Rao the IT Minister he said.<\/p>\n
He was speaking at Seminar in front of the Minister KTR who is the architect behind the rapid strides being taken by the IT sector in the state of Telangana.<\/p>\n
IT has now reached the districts like Mahabungar, Warangal, and also Nizamabad.\u201cHyderabad is happening and will continue to happen… credit goes to the industry,\u201d he said. Seeking to highlight how it had emerged as a preferred destination for IT firms<\/p>\n
KTR said that \u201cThere are a number of reasons I say this\u2014we are the 11th largest geographically, 12th largest population-wise, but the fourth-largest contributor to India\u2019s economy. We are only 2.5 percent of India\u2019s population but our contribution to GDP is 5 percent. Our per capita was Rs 1.24 lakh in 2014, now it is Rs 2.78 lakh. Our GSDP was Rs 5 lakh crore in 2014, now it is Rs 11.55 lakh crore.\u201d \u201cNot only has Telangana grown in terms of wealth creation, but it has grown in every sector.\u201d<\/p>\n
IT exports from the state have increased from Rs 1,83,569 crore in 2021-22 to Rs 2,41,275 crore in 2022-23. In terms of job creation, the numbers increased from 7,78,821 in 2021-22 to 9,05,715 in 2022-23,\u201d said Rama Rao after releasing the IT export reports.<\/p>\n
KTR further said that a surge of Rs 57,706 crores in the fiscal year 2022-23 has been recorded in the IT sector, which is the highest annual rise since the formation of the state.<\/p>\n
Stating that recent growth and achievements in the IT sector would have a ripple effect on other sectors, KTR said an impact would be on the residential construction sector, transportation, entertainment, hospitality and others too.<\/p>\n
According to the previous eight annual reports, the IT sector witnessed significant growth in IT exports and job creation. \u2018<\/p>\n
