After Tatas took over, Air India has come up with a new set of grooming rules for its cabin crew.<\/p>\n
It issued an exhaustive list earlier, but a recent document spells out some significant changes in uniform and personal grooming standards.<\/p>\n
Since the Tatas took over Air India, there have been a few guidelines issued related to grooming standards of cabin crew as well as new directives for standard operating procedures.<\/p>\n
Air India has given a new set of rules over and above the existing ones for its flight attendants.<\/p>\n
Furthermore, both male and female flight attendants are expected to cover grey hair in a natural shade.<\/p>\n
The rules state that “fashion colors or henna are not permitted.” Black or religious threads on the wrist, neck, and ankle are also forbidden.<\/p>\n
For ladies:<\/p>\n
Pearl earrings are not allowed. Flight attendants can only wear gold or diamond-shaped earrings without design.<\/p>\n
Hairstyles of high-top knots or low buns are not allowed.<\/p>\n
Only four black bobby pins can be used.<\/p>\n
Strict adherence to eyeshadow, lipstick, nail paint, and hair shade cards is expected, with no room for personal shades.<\/p>\n
Only one bangle without design and stones is allowed.<\/p>\n
For Men:<\/p>\n
The use of hair gel is mandatory.<\/p>\n
Those with deep receding hairlines or bald patches must shave their heads and keep a bald look.<\/p>\n
Male cabin crew requiring a fully bald look must shave their head daily.<\/p>\n
