Siricilla and other few<br \/>\nplaces were always in the news because of weavers committing suicide. But after<br \/>\nthe formation of Telangana State suicides by weavers have stopped. The main<br \/>\nreason being Government&amp;#39;s assurance to help the weavers.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">After the Telangana State formation, the Chief Minister Sri K.<br \/>\nChandrasekhar Rao recognized the importance of handloom products and<br \/>\nsupported and encouraged them. In addition, steps were taken to get the weaver<br \/>\na respectable wages. Minister for Handloom &amp;amp; Textile, IT, Industries, Municipal<br \/>\nand Urban Development Sri K.Taraka Rama Rao has called on government<br \/>\nofficials, employees and all citizens to wear handloom clothes every Monday in<br \/>\nsupport of handloom promotion.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Government is providing 40 percent subsidy on yarn, dyes and chemicals<br \/>\npurchased by handloom workers, master weavers, handloom societies and TSCO<br \/>\nunder Cheneta Mitra scheme. This subsidy is directly credited to their bank<br \/>\naccount. Till now 20,501 beneficiaries have been given subsidy of Rs.24.09 crores.<br \/>\nAs part of the Telangana Handloom Weavers&amp;#39; Savings Fund, Savings and<br \/>\nSecurity Scheme (TFSSS), the beneficiary&amp;#39;s share has remained unchanged at 8 per<br \/>\ncent and the government share has been increased from 8 to 16 percent. The<br \/>\ntenure of this recurring deposit account is 36 months. This time frame is fully<br \/>\ninclusive of locking period. Rs.96.43 crores was given to 20,537 beneficiaries<br \/>\nduring 2017-2020. The government has decided to continue this scheme for<br \/>\nanother three years and Rs.30 crore has been released. Meanwhile, in this phase,<br \/>\nRs.25.31 crore have been deposited in the RD account of 32,328 beneficiaries<br \/>\nunder this scheme.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Government has launched Netanna Insurance Scheme with the aim of<br \/>\nensuring that the families of handloom and weaving workers do not face any<br \/>\nfinancial difficulties after their death. Similar to Rythu Bhima, this scheme is also<br \/>\nimplemented by Life Insurance Company (LIC). The Government pays the entire<br \/>\nannual premium on behalf of the beneficiary to the life insurance company. To<br \/>\navail the benefit of this scheme the applicant should be a weaver or a subsidiary<br \/>\nworker on the looms where the geo-tagging is done. Age should be between 18 to<br \/>\n59 years.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In case of death of the beneficiary during the insured period of this scheme,<br \/>\na deposit of Rs.5 lakhs will be made to the nominee&amp;#39;s account. This amount will be<br \/>\ncredited to the nominee within 10 working days. This scheme was inaugurated by<br \/>\nMinister for Handloom &amp;amp; Textile, IT, Industries, Municipal and Urban<br \/>\nDevelopment Sri K. Taraka Rama Rao on August 7 th , 2022. It has been<br \/>\nimplemented from August 14 th , 2022.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Government has released Rs.2.33 crore to handloom cooperative<br \/>\nsocieties in 2022-23 with 25 paise interest. Also Rs.3.22 crore under 20 percent<br \/>\nyarn subsidy scheme and Rs.6.02 crore under marketing incentives have been<br \/>\nreleased to the societies.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Official teams from Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka and Odisha have visited<br \/>\nour state to study the schemes implemented by the Telangana government for<br \/>\nthe development of handlooms and the welfare of handloom workers. They have<br \/>\nappreciated the implementation of the schemes.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In order to promote the talent of handloom artists, the government is<br \/>\ngiving awards in the name of Shri Konda Laxman Bapuji every year. The cash given<br \/>\nunder this award has been increased to Rs.25,000 from the year 2020. Telangana<br \/>\nGovernment organizes fashion shows every year to showcase traditional and<br \/>\ncontemporary handicrafts for its popularization.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Well-known handicrafts are weaved with intricate, painstaking such as<br \/>\nTelia rumal weaving, double ikat weaves, Himru weaves, Armur silk sarees,<br \/>\nPeetambari silk, Zari sarees and Siddipet Gollabhama sarees have been developed<br \/>\nby adding modern techniques. To promote this, the Government of Telangana is<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">setting up the Research and Development (RD) department to bring out new<br \/>\ndesigns and new forms of textiles and also providing funds.<br \/>\nTelangana State Handloom Weavers Co-operative Society Limited-TSCO<br \/>\nsupplies various types of fabrics for uniform and other purposes to government<br \/>\nwelfare hostels and schools. Comprehensive Education, SC, BC, Tribal Welfare<br \/>\nSchools, Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Telangana BC Providing uniform cloth and other<br \/>\nnecessary cloths to Welfare Residential Vidyalaya Institutions.
