His grandfather, Ranganath Lalit, was a lawyer in Solapur much before India&#8217;s independence.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Today when Justice UU Lalit took oath as CJI, three generations of his family will be present.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">His 90-year-old father, Umesh Ranganath Lalit, was there. The veteran served as a high court judge after a long career as an advocate in his home state.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Also present were Justice Lalit&#8217;s wife Amita Lalit, who runs a school in Noida, and their two sons, Harshad and Shreeyash. While both of the sons studied engineering, Shreeyash Lalit later turned to law.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">His wife Raveena is a lawyer too.
