Many products see a digital release as an alternate but frankly, they have no choice. There were no theatres for the producers to take the films.<\/p>\n
Plus, on digital, this is not a compromised release. When it comes to a Hindi film that would have, on the higher side, travelled to 20 markets, this film will now release in 200 countries,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
The Pan India movies made in 5 languages can definitely go on the digital platform.<\/p>\n
Theatre will coexist with the digital platform. There is no question about it. Theatres and filmmakers, we are a family,\u201d says a popular director.<\/p>\n
He argues that no filmmakers want to miss the opportunity to take his film to the big screen because a theatrical release is \u201ca big event\u201d that rewards the work of all those who are part of the project.<\/p>\n
For adman-turned-filmmaker Ram Madhvani, the advent of direct-to-digital films is a chance to break free from the shackles of commercial cinema and the \u201cFriday Mafia\u201d and to create a palette of stories for different audiences.<\/p>\n
That said, there are big spectacle films that cannot be enjoyed without the cinematic experience. They have to be seen with family and friends and refreshments. Theatre isn\u2019t going anywhere,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
