The Hon\u2019ble Chief Justice of India (CJI) planted the sapling in response to the appeal made by Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) Mr. J. Santosh Kumar, who initiated the Green India Challenge.<\/p>\n
The Green India Challenge is aimed at planting saplings in order to improve the green cover in the country and promote greenery across the world.<\/p>\n
Speaking on the occasion, the Hon\u2019ble CJI has given a call to all the Judges of the Supreme Court, CJs of all the High Courts, Judges of HCs, retired Judges, and other judicial officers across the country to plant saplings as part of the Green India Challenge.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt is important to protect the Mother Nature by promoting greenery in a big way. We must ensure required green cover so as to protect the nature and ensure sustainable development for the benefit of future generations,\u201d said the Hon\u2019ble CJI.<\/p>\n
The Hon\u2019ble CJI termed the Green India Challenge as a good and timely initiative to promote awareness and greenery in our country.<\/p>\n
The Hon\u2019ble CJI emphasised on the need to take up these green initiatives on a massive scale to ensure ecological balance and protect our eco-systems to sustain life on Planet Earth.
\nMember of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) Mr. J. Santosh Kumar, who launched the Green India Challenge, and other senior Judicial officials were present.<\/p>\n
