In a surprise move 23 senior Congressmen who wrote a strongly-worded letter to the party\u2019s in-charge President Sonia Gandhi to conduct polls to choose a full-time president, have assembled in Srinagar.<\/p>\n
The occasion was to facilitate their senior colleague Ghulam Nabi Azad, whose term as Rajya Sabha member ended recently.<\/p>\n
The program was at Azad\u2019s native place and he also served as chief minister in the past.<\/p>\n
The theme of the meeting was that they are determined to save the party as it is leaning towards the \u2018death-bed\u2019 to make none other than their arch political rival and Prime Minister Narendra Modi\u2019s prophecy \u2013 that is, \u201cCongress Mukth Bharat\u201d come true.<\/p>\n
Though they could not pick up the courage to say it\u2019s time for the Gandhi-clan, there was an undercurrent of the same.<\/p>\n
