Instant messaging platform WhatsApp may make its digital payment debut in India next month, .<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">According to a media report, the Facebook-owned chat app is working with top lenders including State Bank of India, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank and Axis Bank to integrate a Unified Payments Interface-based solution.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-123974 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/greattelangaana.com\/english\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/whatsapp-1.jpg\" alt=\"Money transfer by WhatsApp\" width=\"604\" height=\"270\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">UPI is a real-time payments system developed by the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) that enables digital transactions between banks.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cThe platform is already in beta stage (testing) with one of its partner banks,\u201d the report quoted one of the above-mentioned persons as saying. \u201cWe expect the product to go live for consumers by the end of February, depending on how the trials work out.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The report also quoted an unnamed banker who said security tests were being conducted.
