Day Zero is when the City will be forced to turn off most of the taps and every resident will have to queue for 25 litres of water per day.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The only way Cape Town can avoid Day Zero is if every single resident saves water. But this is not the case.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-123742 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/greattelangaana.com\/english\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/Cape-Towns-Water-Crisis-Day-Zero-The-Day-the-Taps-Run-Dry.jpg\" alt=\"No Water after 100 days\" width=\"590\" height=\"441\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">During the past week, only 39% of Cape Town\u2019s residents used less than 87 litres of water per person per day \u2013 compared to 54% during the first week of January. I want to thank those residents who are saving.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Cape Town\u2019s average daily collective consumption is still too high.
