Kumar currently is in charge of retail banking at SBI.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-108062 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/greattelangaana.com\/english\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/942928361-RajnishKumarArundhatiBhattacharya_6.jpg\" alt=\"Rajnish new SBI Chief\" width=\"630\" height=\"390\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Kumar\u2019s appointment comes at a time when SBI\u2019s profitability is under strain because of ballooning bad loans and sluggish credit growth. At the end of June, the bank was weighed down by gross non-performing loans of Rs 1.88 trillion.
