Shabbir Ali the government advisor i pointed out that BRS leader Mahmood Ali became MLC in 2013 due to the support of Congress party as TRS did not had the required number of votes. Except for inducting one Muslim minister in the cabinet, BRS did not give representation to Muslims anywhere.

He accused the BRS Government of destroying all institutions dealing with minority welfare. Citing instances, he said the Minority Welfare Department was given no funds and kept understaffed.

Similarly, other bodies like the Urdu Academy, Minorities Finance Corporation, SETWIN, and Haj Committee had symbolic chairmen with no bodies/directors. Deliberate delays were caused in the formation of the Wakf Board, and the promised judicial powers were never given, he alleged. He also pointed out that KCR, as the Chief Minister, visited the Haj House only once in 2017, in view of the 2018 elections.

Shabbir Ali said that the Congress Government had appointed a Muslim advocate Imran as the Additional Advocate General and ensured the representation of a Muslim in the newly constituted Telangana Public Service Commission by appointing retired IPS Aamir Ali Khan.

He said that the Congress Government would appoint a large number of Muslims to various corporations. “We’ve just started, and we have a long journey to make,” he said.

“KTR should stop misleading the minorities. He should first clarify why KCR contested against me before speaking on the minorities’ issue. The Congress Government will soon expose the failures and false claims of development being made by BRS,” he said.
