Where is Radhika Apate who talked about the payment parity in the film industry and hero treating the Heroines badly on the sets.She was the one who told that one top hero called her to come to his room on the upstairs of a hotel. But she did not name the Hero.
It looks like she has no work these days. “Sometimes, there are days when you have not worked and you get[to hear or read news about others bagging good projects and it puts you down,” says Radhika, who, however, adds that the feeling is short-lived. “For me, it happens for a little period of time,” says the 31-year-old, who last starred alongside Tamil superstar Rajinikanth in the Tamil film, Kabali (2016).
But don’t misunderstand it to be jealousy, warns Radhika, for there is no competition. “I have been fortunate to not be boggled by others’ success. I have good friends in the industry. So there is a lot more collaboration and encouragement towards each others’ work rather than being jealous,” she says.
Radhika, who debuted in Bollywood with a brief role in the film, Vaah! Life Ho Toh Aisi! (2005), went on to star in films such as Rakht Charitra (2010), Shor In The City (2011), Phobia (2016) and Parched (2016). The actor, who will feature alongside actor Akshay Kumar in Padman, says she still has a lot to learn as an actor.
“I have taken a pause. I’m choosing my work carefully. I am looking at particular projects which are inspiring me or making me excited,” she says. Lets hope she continues to be bold in her life time exposing people who exploit ladies at work.
