The Supreme Court has simplified the rules for dance bars in Maharashtra. It has struck down the stringent laws imposed earlier in the state. The Court in its latest ruling stated that the dance and the liquor can go together.

The rule that the dance bars should be one kilometre away from the religious places and educational institutions was cancelled.

The Legislature also must take a view on this the court opined.

However, the Supreme court has observed that the dancers can be paid in cash but they must not be showered with currency and that the money should not be thrown on them. The rule of partition between the bar and the dance floor has also been removed.

Now people can enjoy the dance directly from the bar having their drink.
