In connection with the Sankranti festivities, Bhogi Teru and Makarasankranti festivals will be held on January 14 and January 15 respectively at Sri Govindaraja Swamy temple in Tirupati.
On January 14, on the Bhogi festival, from 5.30 pm to 7 pm, a procession of Sri Andal Ammavaru and Sri Krishna Swamy will be carried out.
Sankranti Tirumanjanam is performed in the morning on the occasion of Makar Sankranti on January 15. At 6.30 a.m. from the temple, the Chakratalwar is taken out in procession to Sri Alwar Theertha in Kapilatheertham. Between 5.30 pm and 7 pm Sridevi and Bhudevi together with Sri Govindaraja Swamy will parade along Mada streets.
On the morning of January 16, Melchat Vastram and flower garlands are taken in a procession from Sri Pundarikavalli Ammavaru Temple and offered to Sri Andal Amma. Sri Andal Ammavaru is worshiped at Sri Alwar Theertha in Kapila Theertham. After Tirumanjanam there, they will return to the temple in solitude.
Sri Godakalyanam ceremony will be conducted in the temple between 4 pm and 6.30 pm.
Similarly, Parveta festival will be held on January 17. On this occasion, Sridevi and Bhudevi along with Sri Govindaraja Swamy will be taken on a procession from the temple to Parveta Mandapam located on Renigunta road between 4 pm and 6 pm. and later return to the temple.
